About Unni Heim
Unni Heim is the founder of the Norwegian Biodanza School (Norsk Biodanzaskole) and Biodanza in Norway. She is deeply passionate about the practice, and is a warm and sensitive facilitator.
Unni was born and raised in Tromsø, but has spent much of her adult life in Oslo and around the world. Since the year 2000, she has been on a profoundly transformative journey, both personally and professionally.
She works full-time with biodanza, meditation, ceremonies, and human development, and is regularly invited to teach in various countries across Eastern, Southern, Central, and Northern Europe. She has also taught in South Africa and Bali.
Unni’s work integrates her deep connection to her roots in Northern Norway, drawing on the powerful themes of ancestors and nature in her biodanza teachings. Her biodanza classes create a space where participants can explore this ancestral energy and wisdom.
The stunning landscapes of Northern Norway, with its mountains, fjords, and Arctic skies, also play an essential role in her approach. Unni feels a profound connection to nature and integrates its rhythms into her biodanza practice, seeing nature as a reflection of the emotional and spiritual journey. Through this connection, she believes that individuals can achieve balance and a deeper understanding of themselves.
Bringing people together to support their deeper life journeys and inner processes is Unni's greatest passion. Her work fosters a holistic approach to personal development, creating spaces for people to reconnect with their roots, honor their ancestors, and engage in the sacred flow of life itself.
About Paola Havill:
Paola Havill is the co-director of Norsk Biodanzaskole and trained facilitator and didactic teacher of Biodanza.
She’s been dancing Biodanza ever since first coming to Norway in 2008 and values the joy and power of this profound movement medium.
Stemming from Samoan heritage, Paola danced Polynesian dance in her teenage years, enjoying the collective tribal connection this gave her to her cultural ancestry. Biodanza has given her tools to sustain her continued inner connection to her cultural roots, despite living at the opposite end of the globe. Dancing Biodanza with the four elements and exploring shamanic dance and ritual have helped her maintain this deep access.
Since becoming a Biodanza teacher 12 years ago, Paola has opened circles in Norway and New Zealand alongside continuing to train internationally. Paola loves teaching in the community, specialising most recently in Biodanza with the elderly and drug rehabilitation groups. Paola is also a fully trained yoga teacher and enjoys guiding others into solid embodiment through meaningful movement.
